If you travel with kids, you know that we all find ourselves spending a bit more ‘quality’ time in the car and in airports with our children than we’d like, usually in unfamiliar territory while wondering, “Where’s the best place to stop? Is there a kid-friendly option?

As the editor and contributors of Pit Stops for Kids, we provide our own favorite pit stops, feature travel product and experience advice, city and road trip series, pre-planned itineraries, and family resort and attraction reviews as parents who have been there, done that in all 50 states and dozens of countries.

Sharlene Earnshaw (Editor)

Sharlene Earnshaw has been in the family travel industry since 2007. During that time, she has traveled with her family to exciting destinations such as Peru, Scandinavia, Alaska, Italy, Costa Rica, and several US National Parks (her favorite!). In addition to serving as Editor at Pit Stops for Kids, Sharlene has also served as Editor of Trekaroo, one of the nation’s top family travel websites, since 2010. She has worked with dozens of brands over the years and was named one of the top 10 family travel bloggers by USA Today’s 10 Best. Amy Hagstrom (Founder Emeritus)

Amy Hagstrom has been a writer and editor in the travel industry since 1998. Since having children of her own, the travel bug stuck. Based in Oregon, Amy travels extensively with her three sons, who especially enjoy outdoor and adventure family travel. Since creating Pit Stops for Kids, she’s been featured regularly in print and online travel publications, and writes weekly at Practical Travel Gear and monthly at Huffington Post. You can find Amy’s monthly column on outdoor travel in Outdoors NW Magazine. More importantly, she’s a pro at folding just about any brand of stroller, finding wet wipes at a moment’s notice, and stuffing a week’s worth of laundry into one suitcase. @pitstopsforkids
